Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 20, 2026
Plain-English summary (the full Policy below controls): we collect what you give us (account, business financials, buyer preferences, messages, documents) plus usage data; we use it to run the marketplace, produce valuations, match deals, bill subscriptions, and email you (marketing email is opt-out anytime). We never sell your personal information. Detailed business data only reaches a buyer after an approved NDA. Documents you upload for AI import are processed by providers working for us, and you review the results before anything is saved.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Zogby LLC (“Zogby,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with www.zogby.io and the tools, dashboards, memberships, and services we operate (the “Platform”). It applies to visitors, account holders, sellers, buyers, members, and affiliates.
By using the Platform, you agree to this Policy. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in our Terms of Service.
2. Information We Collect
(a) Account information. Email address, name, password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider), profile photo, bio, country, role (buyer/seller), booking calendar link, and, if you sign in with Google, the profile information Google provides.
(b) Business and financial information (sellers). Information you provide about your business, including its name, website, category, revenue, profit, monthly profit-and-loss data, growth, churn, customer concentration, owner involvement, asking price, and documents you upload (such as P&L statements). If you connect a data integration such as Stripe, we receive the business metrics that integration provides (for example, verified revenue and subscription data).
(c) Buyer information. Buyer profile details you provide, including acquisition preferences, deal size, budget, source of funds, website, and LinkedIn.
(d) Communications and agreements. Messages sent through deal rooms and Platform messaging, NDA requests and signatures, referral agreement acceptances (including the legal name you type and the timestamp), support communications, and email interactions.
(e) Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive limited billing information such as transaction status, subscription identifiers, and customer identifiers. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers.
(f) Usage and device information. Log data, IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, and actions taken on the Platform, collected via cookies and similar technologies as described in Section 6.
(g) Information from others. Sellers may provide information involving their businesses' customers or teams in aggregate; affiliates may provide contact information for prospective referred clients; and deal counterparties may reference you in communications.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to: (i) provide and operate the Platform, including valuations, listings, deal rooms, NDAs, memberships, the affiliate program, and support; (ii) prepare, anonymize, and market listings at a seller's direction, including generating teaser content and share images; (iii) match buyers with relevant opportunities, including against buyer profiles and buy boxes; (iv) process payments and manage subscriptions; (v) send transactional communications (deal activity, NDA requests, receipts, account and legal notices); (vi) with your consent given at signup, send marketing and informational emails about Zogby products, listings, and market insights, from which you may unsubscribe at any time; (vii) monitor, secure, and improve the Platform, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our agreements; (viii) produce aggregated, de-identified analytics and market intelligence (such as valuation multiples by category) that do not identify you or your business; and (ix) comply with legal obligations.
4. AI Processing
Some features use artificial intelligence provided by third-party AI service providers acting on our behalf. For example, when you upload a P&L document for import, its contents are transmitted to an AI provider to extract monthly revenue and profit figures, and the results are returned to you for review before anything is saved.
AI providers process this content under contractual obligations to use it solely to provide the service to us. We do not use your confidential business documents to build products unrelated to serving you, and aggregated insights we produce are de-identified as described above.
5. How Information Is Shared
Except for valuation submissions as described in this Section, we do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
Valuation submissions. If you submit information to our valuation tools, we may sell or share that submission — your contact details and the business and financial information you provide — to or with third-party partners, who may use it to contact you about relevant products or services or for their own business purposes. You may opt out of this sale or sharing at any time by emailing ben@zogby.io with the subject “Do not sell my valuation data,” and this does not affect your ability to use the valuation tools.
We otherwise share information as follows: (a) Between deal participants. Anonymized listing information is public; detailed business information is shared with a buyer only after the seller (or Zogby on the seller's behalf) approves that buyer's NDA request. Buyer profile information may be shown to sellers and to Zogby in connection with NDA requests and deal rooms. Messages are visible to their participants and to Zogby. (b) Service providers. Hosting and database infrastructure (including Supabase), payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, authentication (Google), analytics, and AI providers, each processing information on our behalf. (c) Affiliates and deal collaborators. Where an affiliate or deal collaborator has a role in a transaction, we may share deal-level information reasonably necessary for that role (for example, a deal's status and sale price with an affiliate holding a percentage on it). (d) Legal. Where required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Zogby, our users, or others. (e) Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case this Policy will continue to apply to your information until modified as described below.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the Platform (such as keeping you signed in), to remember preferences, and to understand usage so we can improve the product. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may break sign-in and core functionality.
7. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, and thereafter as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements (including NDAs, non-circumvention, and fee obligations), maintain business records, and for legitimate business purposes. Signed agreements and transaction records may be retained for the period required by applicable law even after account deletion. De-identified and aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted transport, access controls, row-level security in our database, and confidentiality obligations with service providers. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for the security of the systems you use to access the Platform.
9. Your Rights and Choices
(a) Access, correction, deletion. You can view and update most account and business information in your dashboard. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing ben@zogby.io. We will honor requests to the extent required by applicable law, subject to retention needs described in Section 7.
(b) Email choices. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us. Transactional and legal emails (deal activity, receipts, account notices) will still be sent because they are necessary to operate your account.
(c) Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), or similar laws, including rights to know, portability, restriction, objection, and non-discrimination for exercising rights. To exercise these rights, contact ben@zogby.io; we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. For GDPR purposes, Zogby processes account and business data as necessary to perform our contract with you, on the basis of consent (for marketing email), and for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Platform. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
10. Children
The Platform is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, contact ben@zogby.io and we will delete it.
11. International Users
Zogby operates from the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States and in other locations used by our service providers. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice on the Platform or by email. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
